Printed Casting – our 3D sand printing process – is a hybrid process where our molds for are created in 3D sand printers and then poured as usual.
The print file for the sand mold is generated from a 3D CAD drawing of the part. Whether the cast retrofit part is designed based on an original part drawing, constructed from 3D scanning data, or already available as a 3D CAD model, the 3D sand printing process always results in a virtual model. This model can then be modified, varied, or rerun any time.
3D sand printing accommodates the entire range of R&M materials. For example, a cast retrofit part could be manufactured in a more wear-resistant material. If non-ferrous materials are required, our 3D sand printing facility can produce molds to be cast in another foundries that offers the material.
